Playing in their first tournament of the new year on Monday, Maryville finished Day 1 of the Port City Invitational at the Savannah Country Club in third place, shooting 611 and 43 over par as a team.
The Scots were led by newcomer Colin McCabe, who after two rounds, sits tied for 10th place after shooting 150 over 36 holes (+8). McCabe shot a team-low 74 in round one, shooting one under par on the back nine.
After McCabe, Jacob Dunlap posted the next lowest Score for MC. Dunlap finished tied for 16th, shooting 153 and 11 over par. Colton Novotny and Tristen Evans are tied for 20th, posting scores of 154 and 12 over par to round out the Scoring for the Scots. Completing the lineup for Maryville was Reid Woods who finished the day 29 over par with 171 strokes.
Fellow CCS member LaGrange holds the team lead heading into Day 2. The panthers shot 594 as a squad and finished 26 over par. They are led by Jeremy Evans who is in first place after shooting 144 and two over par on the day.
