Re: Fentanyl Investigation/Arrests

Narcotics agents with the Sequatchie County Sheriff’s Office completed a two-day investigation removing suspected dangerous narcotics from our community and resulting in the arrests of six people. Authorities arrested three individuals in a vehicle stopped on Hwy 111 after witnessing what was believed to be a drug transaction occur on Houston St in Dunlap. Authorities located suspected fentanyl and marijuana as well as two handguns, one of which was stolen, and cash. Arrested were McBee, McWhorter and Freeman.

The following day, S.C.S.O. narcotics agents, assisted by 12th Judicial District Drug Task Force agents and officers with the Dunlap Police Department, served a search warrant at the Houston St. home, finding more suspected fentanyl pills, marijuana, meth and cash. Also found at this location were two more guns, one of which was stolen. From this location, deputies arrested the Martinez brothers as well as Markum.

Between the two locations, agents seized the following:

Dozens of suspected Fentanyl pills

Suspected Meth

Suspected Marijuana

Drug Paraphernalia

Four handguns (two of which are stolen)

Ammunition

More than $5,000.00 cash
