Announced by head coach Michele Dombrowski, the University of the South women's lacrosse team has released the 2023 schedule. 17 games are slated on the schedule, with 10 taking place at Puett Field.
The Tigers open the campaign at home with a contest with Wisconsin-River Falls from Puett Field at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 19.
Following a trip to Piedmont (Ga.) on Saturday, Feb. 25, the Tigers will play two games at home, starting with the University of Redlands (Calif.) on Tuesday, Feb. 28.
On March 4, the Tigers will take on Albion (Mich.) to wrap up the quick homestand. This will be the first time in program history that the Tigers will take on the Britons head-to-head.
Spring break for the Purple and White will begin on March 9 with a trip to Birmingham-Southern to open Southern Athletic Association play. The Tigers will spend the rest of the break in Georgetown, Texas to take on Southwestern (Texas), Mount Holyoke (Mass.) and North Central (Ill.).
While this will be the first meeting with the host Pirates since 2019 and the first since 2018 for the Cardinals, the Tigers will meet the Lyons for the first time ever.
After a travel day back home, the Tigers will be on the Domain for six of their next seven contests. Sewanee will first host Transylvania (Ky.) On Thursday, March 16 before resuming SAA play at Oglethorpe on March 18.
Sewanee will next play five games in 11 days, starting with Hope (Mich.) on March 21 and Kalamazoo (Mich.) on March 23.
Conference foe and winners of last year's SAA Tournament Championship in Rhodes College make their way to the Cumberland Plateau on Sunday, March 26.
After a midweek contest versus DePauw on March 29, the homestand concludes with Berry on Saturday, April 1.
Sewanee's final road game of the regular season will take place at Hendrix on April 8.
The season finale will take place on Saturday, April 15 versus Centre College.
The 2023 SAA Tournament will take place over two weekends. The top-two teams in the league will host the pod rounds on April 21 and 23. First round, play-in games, will take place on Friday, April 21 at the site of the No. 1 and No. 2 seed, with the semifinals scheduled for Sunday, April 23.
The SAA Tournament Championship occurs on Sunday, April 30 at the highest remaining seed.
Michele Dombrowski enters her 17th season as head coach of the University of the South women's lacrosse program.
