HOW IT HAPPENED
-A contested battle for the first 3:30 of the game, LaGrange took off with a 10-1 run to make the lead to double figures for the first time in the contest at the under-12 media timeout.
-Playing consistently for the remainder of the half, the Tigers could not cut into the deficit, as the Panthers took a 12-point lead, 43-31, into the locker room.
-After Sewanee cut the deficit into single digits with a triple and later free throws by Tre Corrigan, LaGrange pushed the advantage back to its biggest of the night, 15 points, as the Panthers had a 70-55 lead after the three-point play by Berhsard Edwards with 9:25 to go.
-After a second chance conversion by Gabe Cofield with 7:23 left in the contest, Sewanee went on an 11-0 run in about a five-minute span thanks to the efforts of Russ Marr, Eli Holland and Colin Kahl.
-Marr's 3-pointer with 1:38 left in regulation made it a one-possession game, 77-74, but that would be as close as the Tigers would get.
-Despite the Purple and White's valiant effort of coming back from 15 that was too little too late, LaGrange helped the cause in rebounding, The Panthers posted 38 rebounds to Sewanee's 27, including 13-6 on the offensive boards.
-For the night, LaGrange connected on 50% (30-of-60) from the field, but Sewanee held them in check from downtown, converting 29.4% (5-of-17), and 3-of-12 in the second half.
