Tija Odoms | The University Of The South
Congratulations to Sewanee alumna Tija Odoms, C’21, who has been awarded a Charles B. Rangel International Affairs Fellowship. The Rangel Fellowship supports extraordinary individuals who want to pursue careers in the Foreign Service of the U.S. Department of State. The fellowship will support Odoms through a two-year master’s degree in an area of relevance to the Foreign Service. As part of the Rangel Program, Odoms will work for a member of Congress on issues related to foreign affairs in the summer of 2023. In the summer of 2024, the U.S. Department of State will send her overseas to work in a U.S. embassy or consulate to get hands-on experience with U.S. foreign policy. Upon successful completion of the program, she will become a U.S. diplomat in the summer of 2025. Odoms is the second Sewanee alumna to be awarded a Rangel Fellowship—Eunice Muchemi, C’19, is a member of the 2022 class of Rangel Fellows and is pursuing a master’s degree at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University.
