65 percent of applicants to Sewanee-The University of the South were admitted for fall 2018

At Sewanee-The University of the South, 100 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 51 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year private not-for-profit institution in Sewanee enrolled 1,785 students in fall 2018, including 1,698 in undergraduate and 87 in graduate programs, data shows. 1.1 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

22 percent of undergraduates are residents of Tennessee, and 74 percent are residents of other states. 4 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (81 percent) and Black or African American (5 percent).

The school admitted 65 percent of the 3,465 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 21 percent enrolled.
