The University of Tennessee Southern baseball team evened the season series with #6 Faulkner after a marathon 12-inning win by the count of 8-7 on Tuesday.

SCORING RECAP

For the second time this season, Landon Rogers took the first pitch deep to lift the Firehawks to an early 1-0 lead.

In the third, Kevin McCarthy would blast a two-run homer scoring Devan Buckhalter giving UTS a 3-0 lead.

Buckhaulter would score on McCarthy's ground ball in the fifth. Michael Wurtz would reach on a Faulkner error allowing Rogers to score. Wurtz would later cross the plate on Josh Porter's single. UTS would lead 6-1 after five.

Rogers would single in the tying run in the ninth scoring Noah Junker. Both squads would head to extra innings locked up at seven.

In the twelfth, Grayson Willis would advance home on a Faulkner balk giving the Firehawks a victory over #6 Faulkner.

Logan Parrott would get the start tossing three shutout innings not allowing an Eagle hit. Weston Horton would hurl a pair of innings allowing one earned run and one hit. Both Parrott and Horton would strike out three. Griffin Sahil and Josh Simmons would pitch the Faulkner sixth. They would combine to allow six runs with only two being earned. Cody Womble lock up the Eagle bats. Womble would toss six innings of relief allowing three hits and fanning 11 out of 22 batters he faced.
